This is something available to married couples and those in civil partnerships.

Provided neither of you are taxed above the basic rate then the transferable tax allowance can be elected to be transferred.

This will be beneficial when one of you have taxable income below the personal allowance.

If we are preparing a tax return for both of you we will deal with this automatically.  However, if not, it is imperative that you advise us about this prior to preparing your return.
